Thomas, one of Amazon.com's best-selling rhythm and blues authors, is gearing up for a visit to the Hilton Medical Center Hotel in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 2, 2011. Thomas will be discus corsa sing her newly released novel, "My Father's Colors," which hit the stores and online retailers on March 1, 2011. The fiction work is a sequel to her first novel, "Color Me Jazzmyne," which released in February 2009.
Thomas's novels follow the journey of Naya Monà, a woman who struggles to find herself as she regretfully discovers her father's past and searches for her daughter. Readers also become familiar with the individual trials of Naya's husband, Chris; fame-entranced Misty; and Car rc helicopter and car market place l, a love-afflicted character introduced in the second book.
Thomas said her books are alfa romeo inspired by real-life situations of abuse that many women and children suffer. "Just recently a SC Johnson billionaire executive was accused of sexually molesting his 15-year step daughter. Child abuse is more than a reality, for victims—it is a nightmare that they never seem to wake up from. Statistics show that 1 out of every 6 girls will face sexual abuse before they reach adulthood." Thomas, who is also a child abuse prevention advocate stated.
She has also worked with the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, contributing 15% of the proceeds from her first book, Color Me Jazzmyne during her April campaign. Thomas said that she looks forward to working with other Child Advocacy centers in the near future.
Thomas will be at the Hilton Medical Center Hotel on 925 Sou aston martin th University Ave between 5 and 7 p.m. to sign copies of My Father's Colors. A book reading will follow.
About the Author: Marian L. Thomas graduated Magna Cum Laude receiving her Bachelor's degree in business communication. She began her writing debut as a sports editor and a news editor for a local Atlanta college paper. While Thomas's books are fiction, they touch on the struggles of women, abuse, relationships and friendships, giving each one a hint of reality.
