Tinchy – one of the UK's biggest music stars – is asking students to make themselves a star too by uploading a 20-30 second video to the Thank A Teacher website thanking the person who has made a difference to their time at school.
"I know from my school days what kind of impact a great teacher can make," says Tinchy Stryder, who was a student at St. Bonaventures School in Newha chrysler m, London. "I had a maths teacher there – Mr. Ashmore - who influenced me and helped me to be who I am today. I want to get all the kids behind Thank A Teacher and name the person who has inspired them the most."
It's easy to upload a video-clip to the Thank A Teacher website (http://www.thankateacher.co.uk/win) from your mobile phone, Flip or video camera. The site will be constantly updated with a regular flow of celebrities thanking their favourite teachers. If students don't want to upload a video, they can post a written message about their favourite teacher on the site.
"The Thank A Teacher websi corsa te is being launched to give young people a voice by enabling them to publicly thank a teacher who has made a significant difference to their lives," says Caroline Evans, Chief Executive of The Teaching Awar alfa romeo ds/Thank A Teacher. "Thousands of students will be leaving school this summer and nothing could be a better 'thank you' to their teacher than a video-clip about why that teacher has inspired and supported them. We'll then send the teacher a personalised thank you card absolutely free of charge which tells them to visit the website and see their thank you message."
The Thank A Teacher campaign (http://www.thankateacher.co.uk/home) 1086274749 is open to everyone, even parents or past pupils, and will run until the end of January 2012, when teachers named on the site will be put forward for a Teaching Award in October 2012.
