Groundbreaking Release of Gary Sinise Movie to Support Military and Families
June 28, 2011-New York, NY: The award-winning feature-length documentary "Lt. Dan Band: For The Common Good", featuring Academy Award nominated actor, Gary Sinise, will symbolically be released on July 4th, 2011 in a very unique way. This moving film chronicles a two-year global journey that started at Ground Zero, when Gary vowed to never forget those who serve and sacrifice. With that intent he formed the Lt. Dan Band purely to entertain and support those in uniform, balancing his vigorous CSI: NY schedule with over 300 concerts, including Iraq and Afghanistan.
"Lt. Dan Band: For the Common Good" will be launched in an innovative cause-driven manner that echoes the very theme of the movie, giving back to those willing to give all. Starting July 4th, for one month, when viewers stream the film at LtDanBandMovie.com, one out every four dollars will be donated to The Gary Sinise Foundation which honors our nation's defenders through programs and projects that serve our military, veterans, first responders and their families, as well as by supporting other charities s aston martin uch as the USO, Operation International Children and Snowball Express.
"Jonathan has made a beautiful film that captures the dedication and sacrifice of our troops, first responders and their families and what it means to give back to them. I am honored to be a part of it. He first approached me about filming some of the work I was doing in support of our troops just after my third trip to Iraq with the USO. I was a bit unsure about doing it but he convin alfa romeo ced me that it would be treated in the right manner, with honor and respect. He wasn't kidding, and I am very happy that I accepted his offer."
